My car had smoke coming from the back exhaust & engine light turned on. My car was towed to this place and I was told that my engine blew & that I needed a new engine. They were going to charge me over $4200 for a new engine. I called several times to see how many miles this new engine I was going to receive had. It took 3 days until I got the answer. Anyways, long story short, a friend of mine referred me to their mechanic so it was towed to a different shop & they said that I didn't need a new engine. I'm only paying 1/4 of what they told me it was going to cost. Wow... that's crazy - never again will I take my car there!
Shirley, I apologize for the 3 day wait but I was in the hospital and bed with flu and my assistant did not want to give you the wrong information on the used engine. As soon as I got back, I called you first thing in the morning. As far as the diagnosis, the vehicle was smoking and misfiring. We ran a compression test and found the cylinders that were misfiring had very low compression. Our recommended repair for that is an engine replacement. If someone else has a different repair recommendation, we wish you the best of luck with the repair. Have a blessed day! Rich
